VETSTEPS, our 2-Year Financial Advisor Apprenticeship is approved by the Department of Labor and the Veterans Administration and is designed to help you build a Financial Services business from the ground up.

VETSTEPS qualifies for Post-911 GI Bill Education Benefits.  Eligible veterans who meet our entrance requirements can use their benefits to help support themselves and their families while they learn.

We also want to ensure that, upon completion, candidates have achieved a level of success that predicts a great career in Financial Services.  We offer other career development options, but if you wish to use your VA Benefits, you must choose VETSTEPS.

VETSTEPS DOES NOT ENCUMBER YOUR EARNED VA BENEFITS.

Your earned VA benefits are not required for tuition or any fees related to training. As an Apprentice, your VETSTEPS earnings will cover the costs of all Industry associated required fees related to building your financial advisor business (i.e. technology, licenses, subscriptions, etc.). We will train you for your gain. This is our commitment to you as a United States Military Veteran.

ALL VETSTEPS CANDIDATES MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

  • You must be Life & Health Licensed (if you don't have your license, we can help you get one prior to entering VETSTEPS) 
  • You must pass a background check
  • You must take a Career Aptitude Test
  • If you are using your VA Benefits, you must supply a copy of your Certificate of Eligibility

 The VETSTEPS Apprenticeship program is a recruiting program offered by participating Guardian Agencies.   The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America is not affiliated with the Department of Labor or the Veterans Administration and is not involved in the VETSTEPS Apprenticeship program.  Contact the individual department or agency for additional information regarding eligibility of benefits.

Many independent parties will be supporting you on this journey.  The VETSTEPS Apprenticeship Program (VETSTEPS) is a Department of Labor (“DOL”) – approved job training program developed and sponsored by First Financial Group, LLC (“FFG”). FFG is a Guardian agency which is not an affiliate or subsidiary of either Guardian or Consolidated Planning, Inc. (“CP”, also a Guardian agency).  CP is offering the VETSTEPS program in your area in conjunction with FFG, and CP be providing you with a VETSTEPS Mentor to help guide you through the program.  Your FFG-designated VETSTEPS Apprenticeship Supervisor, in conjunction with your CP VETSTEPS Mentor, will supervise, monitor, and report on your development as a Field Representative and your achievement of DOL-required milestones in the program to enable to you to receive your VA benefits to the extent you qualify for such benefits.  Ultimately, FFG (as sponsor) will have sole discretion on whether you continue in and eventually complete VETSTEPS.  Any Field Representative Agreement you enter into with Guardian, and related association with CP, can be maintained separately from your involvement in the VETSTEPS program.  Neither Guardian nor CP is affiliated with the DOL or the Veterans Administration and neither Guardian nor CP sponsor VETSTEPS.
