Ben Cheaney

Ben Cheaney’s journey in the financial services industry spans over 8 years and is rooted in his passion for helping individuals and businesses with financial stability. Born and raised in Shelby, North Carolina, Ben pursued his education at the University of Chicago, majoring in Public Policy with a concentration in Finance.

After college, Ben’s career took him to Morningstar, where he focused on delivering investment research and tools to advisors. Later, he spent two and a half years as a consultant for Ernst & Young, working on business transformation and strategy projects for large companies.

Driven by his desire to work directly with individuals and businesses in his community, Ben joined Consolidated Planning. His core professional objective is to form lasting relationships, build trust, and help others achieve financial stability.

Ben’s mission is to be a trusted resource, helping clients navigate life’s complex financial questions and problems with clarity and confidence. His long-term goals include becoming a go-to resource for young couples, medical professionals, and local business owners.

Outside of work, Ben enjoys exploring different breweries, trying new restaurants, going on hikes with his wife Kathryn, and their black lab, Guinness. As members of the Lake Norman community, Ben and his wife Kathryn, originally from Chicago, enjoy soaking up the warm weather and exploring all that the area has to offer.
